On November 21, 2019, was held the city environmental conference "Clean Air of Almaty", organized by the Department of Geography, Ecology and Tourism of the Institute of Geography and Natural Science and the group of the Civic Initiative "Clean Air of Almaty". The venue for this event was chosen KazNPU named after Abai, room 225 (Large Conference Hall).

At the conference, speakers presented their reports on the possibilities and prospects of air purification in the country's largest cit In particular, the work of the meeting carried out in the following main sections:
• decreasing air pollution by motor vehicles;
• approaches to reduce emissions from Almaty CHPPs;
• problems in gasification of the private sector;
• urban planning policy and its impact on air pollution;
• analysis of condition of atmosphere and medical consequences of air pollution in Almat

In summary of the conference, was adopted a Declaration containing requirements and proposals for local executive bodies, as well as measures that are necessary to achieve positive results in cleaning the air basin of Almat
