On February 15, 2021, the online webinar ««The Impact Ranking Times Higher Education» Universities of the world from the perspective of the SDGs» was held at the Abai KazNPU, organized by the UNESCO Department of Educational Science and Teacher Training.
On the webinar with welcoming remarks and keynote presentation was made by Doctor of philosophical Sciences, Professor, corresponding member of NAS RK, Vice-Rector for strategic development and internationalization Kulsarieva Aktolkyn.
Secretary General of the National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anar Dutbayeva informed about the work of the National Commission for UNESCO with universities, noting the effective work of KazNPU in this area.
Alpysbaeva Meirgul - National expert of UNESCO, UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan made a report on «The role of universities and the internationalization of higher education in achieving the SDGs».
Speaker and guest Kalimullin Aidar -Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Institute of Psychology and Education of KFU, member of the National Scientific Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a report «Teacher education and international rankings: a case of Kazan Federal University».
Also, the speaker Bekmurat Orazmukhamed -Master of Technical Sciences, leading expert of the Department of development strategy and quality analysis told about «Development of digital transformation of the SDGs: opportunities and challenges».
All the speeches of the speakers were aimed at improving the rating of one of the leaders in assessing the quality of university activities - «Times Higher Education (THE)», the implementation of the university indicators in accordance with the 17 UN goals, including in quality education.
At the end of the webinar, a discussion was held in the form of questions and answers. The speaker and guest Aydar Kalimullin noted the important role of Abai KazNPU in the educational system of Kazakhstan and in the cooperation with the Kazan Federal University. He also expressed readiness to share his experience and invited our scientists to KFU.
