Abai University in UI GreenMetric World University

Abai University actively participates in the international UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, which assesses universities' efforts in sustainability and environmental protection.
This ranking, initiated by the University of Indonesia, is the first initiative aimed at evaluating the ecological sustainability of universities worldwide.

The main goal of Abai KazNPU's participation in the ranking is to develop and implement programs and practices that contribute to the improvement of the university's ecosystem and the environment as a whole. Fostering a culture of sustainable development within the academic community allows for concrete steps toward addressing global environmental challenges.

    The University implements Programs focused on six key aspects:
  • 1. Infrastructure: Assessing green spaces, energy-efficient buildings, and other eco-friendly technologies.
  • 2. Energy Efficiency: Utilizing alternative energy sources and reducing carbon footprints.
  • 3. Waste Management: Establishing recycling systems, waste reduction strategies, and disposal programs.
  • 4. Water: Managing water resources, employing purification technologies, and utilizing rainwater.
  • 5. Transportation: Ensuring access to eco-friendly transportation for students and staff.
  • 6. Education and Research:Integrating sustainability topics into curricula and research initiatives.

Through these efforts, Abai KazNPU supports sustainable development policies, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable principles and striving to create a unique green ecosystem conducive to learning, research, living, and overall quality of life.
