Toxic waste treatment

National E-Waste Monitoring 2023 and Abai University

In 2023, Kazakhstan conducted a national monitoring of electronic waste aimed at assessing the volumes and management of e-waste in the country. This monitoring helps identify key sources of electronic waste, improve collection and recycling systems, and raise awareness about issues related to e-waste disposal.

Abai University actively participates in this initiative by implementing programs for the disposal and recycling of electronic waste. The university organizes educational events for students and staff to emphasize the importance of proper handling and safe disposal of electronic waste.

In collaboration with local authorities and environmental organizations, the university contributes to the development of effective strategies for managing e-waste, fostering not only environmental protection but also a sustainable consumption culture among students.
