Abai University is actively implementing an Energy Efficiency Program by gradually replacing old appliances with energy-efficient ones based on needs and budget resources. We adhere to the Government Green Procurement Guidelines (GGPG), which require consideration of financial criteria, compliance with standards, environmental impact, and the presence of local suppliers when selecting products and services.
To affirm our commitment to these principles, Abai University has installed energy-efficient streetlights, transitioned to LED bulbs, and upgraded to modern air conditioning units and computers—all of which contribute to energy savings and environmentally conscious practices. As part of the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development through 2027, the university has planned initiatives for developing accessible energy and enhancing energy efficiency, including the modernization of conventional bulbs to high-efficiency LEDs and the installation of solar panels.
Abai KazNPU is already implementing a project to install a solar power station on the main campus. This project will involve the installation of solar modules with a total capacity of 109 kW and 194 modules, along with a 100-kW inverter. These measures are aimed at creating a more sustainable and environmentally safe campus, aligning with our strategy and sustainable development goals.
