The Institute of History and Law and the Department of World History organized a scientific and theoretical meeting with a delegation of Japanese scientists: HidetoTsuboi, Takayuki Kawaguchi, Shulatov Yaroslav, Sonoko Mizobuchi, Iori Kurokawa, Song Hyewon, Naoki Watanabe, Naoki Amano, Akina Kobayashi, Li Li, Jaekil Seo from Waseda, Hiroshima, Kobe, Osaka, Musashi, Yamagata and Tama Universities, on the topic: «The problems of prisoners of war and refugees in Northeast and Central Asia in the ХХ th century».
Specially invited guests to the event were the Director of the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Shildebay, Professor - Kh.M. Abzhanov, associate prof. Z.B.Myrzataeva, representatives of the Presidential Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan, faculty, students and undergraduates of the Institute of History and Law.
Presentations were made during the meeting PhD of the University of Kobe Takayuki Kawaguchi «Education of pacifism in Hiroshima», Akina Kobayashi, Associate Professor of Tama University - «Japanese prisoners of war in the USSR after the Second World War», also Japanese scientists exchanged their views with their Kazakh colleagues. Professor Gulzhauhar Kokebayeva, who deals with the subject, gave comprehensive answers to questions related to the fate of Japanese prisoners of war. H.M.Abzhanov made the report «Personalities of Japanese citizens, subjected to political repressions (on the basis of secret materials)»; Z.B. Myrzataeva - «Life of Japanese prisoners of war in camp No. 348 of Ashysay polymetallurgical combine (South Kazakhstan) according to witnesses` evidences and archival data».
