Scientists of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography of Abai KazNPU under the leadership of Professor K.D.Kaimuldinova have been participating in the international project "Promoting Teacher Education for Climate Change Education through Collaboration between Asian Centres of Excellence on Education for Sustainable Development (ATECCE)" for the last three years.
The project is organised by the Centre for the Promotion of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) of Okayama University (Japan) and supported by UNESCO Research and Education for Sustainable Development. The project involves 15 universities from nine Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Indonesia, Mongolia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and India. Throughout the time, the research team of Abai KazNPU carried out a large amount of work on the project, fulfilled tasks and reports in a qualitative and timely manner.
15-18 November 2023 at the University Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) (Surabaya, Indonesia) held the next meeting of the project participants and the UNESA`s International Forum of University Rectors (UNIFUR) 2023, where the project implementers - Deputy Director for Science and International Cooperation of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography K.K. Muzdybaeva, senior lecturer of the Department of Geography and Ecology N.D. Shakirova and chief expert of the Department of Administrative and Legal Support and Strategy and Analysis of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.J. Zhanatova - reported on the work done and participation in the development of the "Asian Framework for Teacher Training in Climate Change Education" and its dissemination guidelines based on the experience of all educational organisations.
