Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University continues implementing a series of environmental initiatives as part of the nationwide “Taza Qazaqstan” campaign aimed at environmental protection and the promotion of ecological culture. Today, the initiative has grown into a nationwide eco-challenge uniting active youth and volunteers across the country. Students and faculty members of Abai University regularly organize clean-up events and participate in cleaning streets, parks, and riverbank areas throughout Almaty. Hundreds of volunteer students from various faculties actively participate in these environmental activities, contributing to the development of a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility. Such initiatives play an important role in fostering social responsibility and environmental awareness among young people. In addition, the university regularly holds awareness campaigns and environmental events under the themes “Keep Your Surroundings Clean,” “Environmental Culture as a Step Toward the Future,” and “Abai University Youth Support Environmental Initiatives.” During these events, students not only participate in cleaning public spaces but also raise awareness among city residents about the importance of protecting the environment. As part of its efforts to promote sustainable lifestyles, the university also organized a “Car-Free Day” campaign. On this day, students and faculty members voluntarily refrained from using private vehicles and encouraged the use of public transportation, bicycles, and walking. The initiative aimed to reduce harmful emissions and promote environmentally responsible living. University representatives emphasize that such initiatives contribute not only to environmental improvement but also to strengthening public health and ecological awareness. Students and faculty members of Abai University plan to continue actively supporting environmental projects and contributing to the promotion of sustainable development principles in Kazakhstan.
