  • In April 2021 a survey "Satisfaction of Teachers with working conditions in KazNPU named after Abai" was organized. The purpose of the study is to assess the satisfaction of teachers of Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay with working conditions. The main objectives of the study are: to identify the characteristics of labor motivation of teachers of the university; to determine the degree of teachers' satisfaction with various aspects of work; generalized proposals and recommendations for improving working conditions; development of recommendations to improve working conditions of the teaching staff. The methodological basis is a mass survey of university teachers. The survey was conducted in the form of online questionnaire of teachers on a specially designed questionnaire. The online form of the questionnaire was created with the help of Google forms. A total of 771 teaching staff, or 73% of teachers of the total number of teaching staff in nine structural units of the university were interviewed.
The results of the survey show that the motivating factors for teachers of KazNPU named after Abay are the possibility of self-realization and the importance of interpersonal relationships in the team (every second). Every third university teacher notes the importance of such factors as the prestige of working at the university and the proposed working conditions (schedule, location of the university, the duration of leave, etc.). It should be noted that the majority of teachers are not motivated by economic incentives. Thus, on the basis of the study we can recommend the need to improve working conditions both for the university as a whole and for its individual units. In particular, it concerns the equipment of classrooms, laboratories with modern technical means of education, availability and provision of computer, Internet resources and office equipment, social support for teachers, social and everyday aspects of work (checkrooms, toilets, canteens).
